Briefly, the "story of Mid-Atlantic Air Museum is not just the story of airplanes, but of ideas. It is also a story of productivity, perseverance, patriotism and above all, the people that made these ideas a reality. The story of Mid-Atlantic Air Museum begins with people. Aviation's heros are not limitaed to inventors, pioneers, pilots and manufacturers, but also include thousands of Mid-Atlantic residents touched by, and are part of, aviation history". This year we are reaching out to local businesses and generous supporters to particiupate in sponsoship opportunities for our annual WW II weekend event. As a valued member of our community, we would like you to be a part of it. There are several ways for you to participate.....
The Museum's main source of revenue is the long-standing tradition "A Gathering of Warbirds", the World War II Weekend event (now in its 33rd year) held June 7, 8, 9, 2024.
Our event includes, but not limited to:
- 25,000 visitors
- WW II aircraft and airshow
- WW II military parade
- Reenactments including a French Village skirmish
- 1943 Home Front area
- Entertainers
- 150 Vendor Flea Market
- Big Band hangar dance with "Swing Fever Dance Band" & "Let's Dance"
Without the museum's volunteers and sponsorships of local businesses and our generous supporters such as you, the WW II Weekend event would not be the success that it has been for all of these years. Preparations have already begun for 2024's WW II Weekend Event (June 7, 8, 9, 2024).
While any level of sponsorship would be greatly appreciated, a sponsorship of $2,000 or greater will provide recognition for you or your organization in all press releases on Social Media, and a listing on the event poster, brochure and our website. In the spirit of the men and women we honor, you or your company can do your part to make the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum's World War II Weekend an unforgettable tribure to all those who fought for freedom.
For three days in June the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum will present more that 1,200 living history re-enactors, dozens of WW II aircraft, hundreds of vehicles, and thousands of period artifacts. 1944 will come alive for show-goers who witness skirmishes and battles at the recreated airfield and wander the sprawloing military camp. There will be 40's era dancing, singing, comedy skits, live radio broadcasts and the theater at the "Home Front". One of the nation's largest militaria flea markets with more than 150 vendors will spread along the taxiway. Most important of all, the story of the greatest conflict in human history will be told by those who were there - the men and women who made possible the freedom we enjoy today.
