The author grew up in the tiny village of Pittstowwn, NY, not far from the border of Vermont. His parents owned and ran a general store for many years.
Ken attended a one-room school in the village through the eighth grade and, later, graduated from Lansingburg High School in Troy.
Soon after high school graduation, he enlisted in the Army, was trained as a radio operator and was deployed toto the southwest Pacific where he spent most of his WW II service.
Post was years included marriage, college, seminary, ordination and reenlistment in the United States Air Force. He served more than thirty-two years of active and reserve duty, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1985. Much of his professional career was spent as a chaplain at Coatesville, PA Veterans Administration Medical Center where he served for twenty-three years, retiring as Chief of Chaplain Services in 1985.
In retirement, Ken resides at Phoebe Berks Village, Wernersville, PA with Ruth, his wife of sixty-five years. They have five children and five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
